Birds in the Montane Mixed-Conifer Forest

One of the birds found in this area is the wild turkey. The domesticated turkey is a large poultry bird, one of the two species in the genus Meleagris and the same as the wild turkey.

 

Another bird in this area is the northern goshawk. The goshawk is a medium-sized bird of prey. They are in the Accipitridae family, which also includes other diurnal raptors, such as eagles, buzzards and harriers.

 

Last but not least is the Northern Flicker, a medium-sized bird in the woodpecker family that is native to North America, parts of Central America, Cuba, and the Cayman Islands. It is also one of the few woodpecker species that migrates.
