Mammals in the Montane Mixed-Conifer Forest
There are a few mammals in the Montane Mixed-Conifer Forest that I would like
to mention today.
The first of these three is the elk. The elk is an animal that was also mentioned
in the alpine tundra biome. This shows similarities between the biomes such as
similar animals. As mentioned before, they are a huge animal that can be found in
the two biomes.
Another mammal located there is the black bear. The black bear is a medium-sized
bear in North America. It is the continent's smallest and most widely distributed bear
species. They are omnivores that eat different things depending on the season.
The last animal I will mention is the mule deer that is also very common. The mule
is named for its ears that are very similar to the mule. This mule can be found roaming
the Montane Mixed-Conifer Forest.
